I really enjoyed this book. It was a little hard to get through parts as it was quite wordy, however, I am glad I stuck with it because the beautifully rich detail was well worth it. The characters are quite complex, though I wish the women were as multi-dimensional as the male characters. The author's ability to weave this stirring story with the medical situations, and make it reader friendly as well as incredibly interesting was fantastic. I would highly recommend it as an escape from routine suburbia in to the lands of India and Africa.
