I know I was supposed to love this book, and I really tried. I just couldn't get into it. It was more a genealogy or a chronology, not a memoir. There was no human interaction, at least in the first 120 pages. That's as far as I got. The writing itself was lovely, but the story didn't go anywhere, if that makes sense.
