Read from February 21 to 24, 2012

I've only read one other book by Maeve Binchy, Circle of Friends, & that was years ago after seeing & quite liking the movie. She's just grand, I love her heart, I want to have endless cups of tea & read a lot more of her work as I was completely in love with this book & this world Binchy wrote about. It just made me feel GOOD. It's unrealistic in that wonderful fairytale way, where you know bad is trumped by good, things end well & people are good & caring. This small community Binchy wrote about is so wonderful I wish it were real. The many characters that graze the pages with their presence are all worthy of a mention. In some books you can't wait for the author to jump back into talking about a character you like above all the others, in this one as she jumped from character to character I was thoroughly pleased & eager to read about any of them. Set in Ireland, which I love as I just adore the way in which they speak, the story was about a little of everything, all the things that make up a large group of people's lives. Heartbreak, love, loss, parenthood, career woes, & many, many humorous situations these people often find themselves in. I laughed often, cried once, & closed the book when I finished it with a smile.
