This would be a great gift for an expecting or new mom. Each of the true anecdotes in this book is short, easy to read even if you only have a moment to yourself or if you are exhausted. But the best thing of all is that these moms share some universal truths about motherhood that aren't usually shared and that aren't necessarily reflected in the popular images and literature of motherhood. For example...It is normal to not feel blissful and serene all the time. Not breastfeeding is okay if it is not working out for you. There may be times when you feel like throwing that baby out the window. I finished the book wishing there were more, and wishing that I'd had a book like this when I was a new mom.
