Read in February, 2012

The illustrations in this book are in such a way that children can look at the book and tell what is going on in the story. The words are few and simple and children who are familiar with site words may even be able to read it. The book is filled with relavent position words. It is a fun book that can be read within a few short minutes.

Learning activity:

I read the book one time through so that the children are familar with the book. I will read the book a second time and as a whole group we will identify the words that rhyme in the book. I will call on a sveral children in the group to identify aloud words in the book that they know rhyme. I will chart each child's response on chart paper. At the end of the activity we will review aloud, as a whole group the rhyming words we identified in the book.
