Coming from a science background, I understood the heroine's viewpoint and her total absence of male intuition. There were many times the book was laugh out loud funny for me.

Dr. Jane Darlington's biological clock has been going off for months. A child prodigy, she has limited dating experience but she wants to be a mom. She's decided against sperm banks because she wants to make sure that her sperm donor is of average intelligence so her child won't be crippled with off the charts intelligence. She agrees to the scheme to spend a night with the football quarterback for the express purpose of impregnating herself.

Aging quarterback Cal Bonner is surprised by the birthday present his team gives him - a very unhooker-like hooker. Things progress and after a second encounter, Jane finally gets her wish. Trouble is, Cal finds out and insists on marriage, but the waters are anything but smooth.
