This story is about a woman desperately searching for her lost dog. And, even more so, it is about the various decisions she has made and how they have affected her life. The story also follows the couple that has found the dog and how he helps them cope with past tragedies that have left them wandering through life in a daze. The author effectively tells the story through the perspective of the dog's owner, the couple, and the dog himself.

I received this book for free through Good Reads First Reads. And I am so glad I did! I really enjoyed reading this book. I instantly fell in love with Mack/Buddy the dog. He persevered even after being dognapped, abandoned, lost and finally taken in by a couple of strangers. Through it all, he never lost his sense of compassion or his ability to provide comfort to those in need. And he never gave up hope in finding "home." I highly recommend this book to all animal lovers!
