This book was drek! The main protaganist was a self-absorbed brat who didn't seem to learn from any of her experiences. This book should have been subtitled "Love is Having to Say You're Sorry ... Over and Over again". Despite her guilt and her whininess her behaviour doesn't change. Will she go back home for Christmas? - no, she's having too much fun screwing a guy we can't figure out and mooching free rent. Will she go back to N.Y. (to that same guy)? No, she's too busy mooching off mom thinking about 'Life'.
All the while she's finding herself other folks get to pick up the pieces, be responsible, sublet her apartment, mail her abandoned belongings. Who's paying her bills? She sure isn't living in N.Y. on the paltry amount she has. Every time she thinks about getting a job she gets too busy navel gazing to follow through. Every time someone calls her on her behaviour (cruel, irresponsible) she falls in a weeping heap on her bed. And repeats it again & again. Yawn.
Is her hand broken that she can't pick up the phone? Write a letter? Where's the internet?
Interesting premise, some ok writing, but the characters suck. I can't believe they made this crap into a movie - probably got 2 stars.
