I checked out the audio book of this one. Really fascinating stuff, but definitely not for those who get squeamish about graphic ailments. The book was actually much more than I had anticipated. Rather than just honing in on how various famous people died, the author does a great job of setting the stage by describing the time period, the famous person's life highlights, and then of course details about how they died. In some cases, really dreadful death stories. [For example, I don't love Columbus, but the man had it HARD for most of his life. And really - we should have entire cities dedicated to the honor of President Garfield given how his life ended.] There was also a decent emphasis on learning about popular medical techniques at a given timeperiod and key vocabularly. A really knowledgeable compilation of some very interesting stuff.
