it was amazing
bookshelves: mystery-suspense
Read in February, 2012 — I own a copy

I've had this on my shelf for quite a while. I'm so glad my bookclub chose this for our February reading. Great characters and twists and turns that keep you reading. I wasn't sure where things were going several times, but everything fit into place by the end. There was a gothic feeling to the book, although it took place probably somewhere in the 20th century. You are never quite sure, as Setterfield probably intended. A wonderful piece of writing.

Pat So glad you like this as much as I did, Tricia! I read it several years ago, and it was my selection of 2010, I think. Everyone enjoyed it and we had a wonderful discussion about it. Thanks for the memory of it! Hugs, Pat
