Robin and her best friend Emily did a foolish thing and climbed up a ride at the Fun Towne Amusement Park. For some unknown reason, the maintenance ladder gave way. Both girls ended up falling several feet to the ground. Robin woke up very confused and is shocked to learn that her friend, Emily, is in a coma. Robin tried to get her life back and remember how to do ordinary things. School, family, and friends are unfamiliar to her. She has a Traumatic Brain Injury. She knows she should be remembering something very important from the night of the fall, but her memory just won’t come back. Robin is advised to make notes to help her remember things. This is the reason for the title, NOTES TO SELF.

As a reader, we understand how difficult it is to try to live after the brain injury. There is a lot of emotion as the reader continues through the story. This was a very good storyline.
