You cannot believe how much I liked this book.....I woke Toby up dozens of times to tell him a baseball story or to talk about some quirky baseball stat. (his response, at first, "honey, keep talking baseball; I'm so attracted to you right now" to, "seriously, I can't talk baseball all night; I've got to get some sleep"!) First time I've been the one boring him with baseball info! It's the nerdiest book about any sport ever written, but seriously fascinating and really great to read. (That may reveal a lot about what a nerd I am, but at least in this case, I'm a baseball nerd. I'm nerdy about lots of much nerdier things.). It really is an absolutely fascinating look at the game of baseball, and kind of a heart warming underdog story as well. Loved it.

Just watched the movie tonight and enjoyed that a lot too, but I'm glad I read the book first. Although brad Pitt idoesn't hurt--I'm not too big a nerd to appreciate that!

Warning, those baseball dudes have foul mouths. Foul.
