I won this book from Goodreads, and I wasn't sure how much I would like it - I was interested because of the Italian and artistic aspects to the story; it is set in Italy, and involves art collection by the the Natzi government. However, the story was engaging, and the descriptions of the countryside, the food, and the people, were well written. It centers around a young Natzi (by default) and his assignment to transport the statute "the Discus Thrower" from Rome to the German boarder. He is guided by Italian twins, and the trip quickly unravels as they detour through the countryside. I won't spoil it for you, but this is really a love story about perfection of art and dealing with your own imperfections.
