This book made me a Vonnegut fan! I had always wanted to read one of his books and had never got around to it. After I completed this novel in a couple of days, I wanted to find out what else Vonnegut wrote immediately. If you are accustomed to typical plot formats, then Slaughter-House Five may not be the book for you. The novel involves a main character, Billy Pilgrim, traveling from place to place: like Dresden during World War II to a married life in New York and then to another planet! The novel is thought-provoking and will have you considering the implications of the events in the story for the main character long after you have read it.
