Beautifully written novel, more poetry than prose. The idea of a small village denying the world and starting life over is one we can easily relate to. Wouldn't we all like to do that at some point in our lives? And they do it with complete faith in their new world full of new lives. It is a story of faith, belonging, love, and loss in a small island surrounded by a world full of madness that doesn't exist. Until it does. My only complaint regarding the novel is that I had trouble reading it with my eyes blurry with tears.
