This is a great story, the kind that really creeps you out because everything seems so . . . normal, at first. But strange things are afoot, and there's more going on beneath the surface than people realize.

The characters in the novella seem like average people, living their Victorian era lives. A genteel but poor young woman making her living as a companion to an older, wealthy woman- this is the very archetype of fiction. But this is no cliched story. I thoroughly enjoyed- well written, and I do love the unconventional elements.
