Read this in bits and pieces over the last year. It's one of those books you'd be pleasantly surprised by if you pick it up while idling at the library. I found the author's tone quite charming and quaint, though in places it does show some biases that feel dated (and yet the genial tone somehow makes it inoffensive, at least to me). The central premise -- that no matter how we may think ourselves above our animal roots, we are quite strongly still bound by the behaviors and patterns we've evolved as a species -- is fascinating and seemed to me to be well-supported and sensible. All in all, an excellent taster to spark a more thorough interest in sociobiology.
