This is an excellent book, but the full five stars largely reflect the vileness of all the other books on this topic!

The Care and Keeping of you has most of the straight forward puberty related information a girl will need. And it is written in a non condescending way, which is nice.
Even though my daughter and I have talked about the puberty process at length, she really wanted a book that she could read on her own on the topic, and though I was skeptical due to the american girl branding, they don't try to sell you merchandise in the back or anything.

It also has a pretty heavy emphasis on feeling free to be different and not automatically buy into what your friends are doing if it's not what you like and feel.

Several of the other ones (don't have the titles with me) deserve public ridicule as far as I am concerened.
There was a chapter in one called (i am not joking) "getting what you want" and it was literally about learning to act flirtatious with your dad (and other adults in your life) to get him to give you things you want, yuck, yuck and double yuck!
