Imagine spending your entire live as a test subject – locked and chained a small room, sometimes the object of torture, subjected to medical experiments. This was the life of the New Species until one woman went undercover to get the evidence necessary to obtain search warrants and free these men and women. The pharmaceutical company responsible for this inhuman treatment was developing drugs to make humans bigger, stronger, and more aggressive. Their test subjects were not entirely human their bodies contained animal DNA.

Ellie was the woman who had risked her life to get the evidence. Fury was a new species male. Ellie was attracted to the big handsome man and sometimes watched him while he was in captive. A member of the medical staff was going to kill him and Ellie saved his life the day she managed to smuggle out the evidence. When they met again Ellie still found him attractive and his desire to kill her changed to lust and love.

This is a fascinating story and unlike stories of shape shifter and vampires a large pharmaceutical could be involved in a project similar.
