This is one Somalian woman's journey from her life that was formerly immersed in Islam. Her story is the story of oppressed women coming to the place where they can walk away from the institution that oppresses them ... in this case, Islam. I finished the book with mixed emtotions.I was so thankful for the freedom of religion and freedom of speech that we still enjoy in our great country. I was so saddened that in her rejection of Islam, she in turn embraced secular humanism, choosing to reject, for the most part, the whole notion of God. Oh, that He would be able to reach into her heart and introduce her to the One who bought her true freedom with His blood on the cross.
