*happy sigh* This book was just what I needed, and I didn't even know it. I had a hankering for a historical, and this one fit the bill. Different enough from the traditional historical tropes, but close enough that it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. Jem is an amazing character. I can't say enough how much I adored him.

Highly recommended for any fans of historicals.
