really liked it

I enjoyed this picture book because it was different. I enjoyed the drawings very much. They were dark which matched the text very well. Even though the pictures were dark the ended up light in the end. The scene with the child being born was unexpected. I did not notice it the first time and I doubt that children would notice this the first time either. I noticed that the note in the back was very beneficial. I think I would read the note in the back to the class before reading the book to the class. I think that would be more beneficial so that the students can understand better what they are reading about. I think the book was very moving and I liked that it had a good ending. I also think it was influential that there were very few words in the book. I think that makes more of an impact.
