bookshelves: maybe-reads

This proves to me that YA is becoming the "it thing" for writers: why else would Philippa Gregory, "queen of (recent) historical fiction," deign to write a historical fiction novel with fantasy elements? I will refrain from judgment, though, until I actually see the finished product.

I agree. I love Philippa Gregory but I am super worried about this series. I wish she'd stick to adult historical stuff =/

Bonnie That's very interesting, I hadn't heard about this... I'm not sold though.

Tatiana Isn't she making enough money writing adult historicals?

Jessie (Ageless Pages Reviews) Why make enough when you can have more? Philippa Gregory is a fairly shoddy author but I will be reading this for sheer WTF factor at least.

Sara Nia (Tea and Parchment) There are plenty of shoddy authors out there, be it YA or adult. I'm going to read before I judge. Maybe it'll be something fresh and new from her - I for one am starting to find her adult historical fictions rather stale...
