The volume is divided into five "books," making it possible to read the volume as a whole or to use its individual sections (books) or the individual chapters within the sections. Book One introduces the science and religion debate. Book Two examines how three types of science -- physics, biology, and psychology - interact with one another. Book Three explores theological resources for making a model of God, humanity and the cosmos and how these can applied to a description of divine action in the light of contemporary science. Book Four looks at science's place in society, while Book Five speculates on how the debate between science and religion is likely to develop. Includes figures, exercises, a note for teachers, references, bibliography, and index.
