I like Anne Tyler's books because they are about regular people who are trying to navigate life's obstacles as best they can. This book is about a man who is trying to deal with his grief after his wife dies unexpectedly. As with most of Tyler's stories, there is a cast of supporting characters who are endearing because of their quirkiness. I enjoyed this book, even though its outcome is predictable.
