My opinion of what a perfect book should be is an incredibly niche thing. It's so rare that I put down a book and think, "that was perfect, I wouldn't want a thing about that book to change." I did that very thing about The Disenchantments, however. Perhaps it's because I'm goon through some similar things in my life as the narrator, or maybe it's because some of the characters are very much like my actual friends, but this books is exactly what I needed at this point in my life. It's a new favorite of mine.
