"Different" and "interesting" are two very terrible words to describe how I feel about this book, both being a nice way of saying that the story was dismal, which is decidedly not a good word.

I suppose the point was to make the reader, by book's end, wonder if it's reality or a dream our main character finds himself. I like the effort, but the execution, at least to me, was a little wanting. I was expecting to be "haunted" by the final page, but wasn't much.

I did enjoy the touches of popular culture, sprinkled here and there, and the relationship between Red and Immy is just beautiful. I'd definitely reread this book for that.
