What a treat this short book is!
Despite savouring each of its 124 short pages, it was over all too soon.

"One has met and indeed entertained many visiting heads of state, some of them unspeakable crooks and blackguards....Sometimes one has felt like a scented candle, sent in to perfume a regime, or aerate a policy, monarchy these days is just a government-issued deodorant"

The last sentence, which I shall not tell you, had me laughing out loud and startling the cat.
5 stars.
And now to see what else this talented writer has published.........
