The Southern Diaspora: How the Great Migrations of Black and White Southerners Transformed America
by James N. Gregory
I'm so glad you posted this, Sherri! It sounds really terrific. I just put it on my "books to read" list. It sounds like it could be a really interesting companion to reading southern literature like Faulkner or O'Conner, etc. I'm thinking about how I would use it in my own classes. Clearly, this book is very interdisciplinary!

Wow! Still in the middle of this book, but have learned so much
so far. Great information that explains a lot about composition of
different areas of the US. Going to use this in my citizenship for sure.
It is really exhaustive in presenting the information, so I find myself
skimming his third or fourth examples.
