bookshelves: action, gruesome-murders, tame-romance, slow-paced, not-sure-what-to-think, likeable, crime-solving, odd
Read from March 12 to 15, 2012

This is going to be short and sweet! Looking for a m/m romance this isn't it. If you love your murder/mysteries with multiple murders spanning some years this could be for you. Ed and Clint are a nice couple, but there was no sparks between them, all you get is a couple of kisses and not much more to the romance side of things. The focus here is on the investigations and other side issues with lots of secondary characters which was fine but it needed something else. More oomph, I really can't explain it. It would have been so much better if it had a nice balance of romance and mystery. Some parts of the story were really good, funny and sweet. So overall this could have done with some hot and sweaty loving and more relationship development what a pity because it could have been brilliant.

Anke I'll be waiting for your verdict:) The cover looks good, the author's name, well... sounds like an anagram and the story - I'm not sure.

Tina You guys are funny while I'm asleep! I sign on in the morning to find a new book and an entire debate about it! This looks really good and I agree with Sims that it looks like it's modern.

message 37: by Vio (new) - rated it 3 stars

Vio Tina it always starts off innocently then, then Sims had to bring up the pale.......I can confirm its not historical, I love historical!!!!

Welcome Ami, not sure why this is been marked as a romance when it's not!

message 41: by Td (new)

Td Hmmm, the blurb does seem misleading putting some focus on romance. Do you think you would have felt about it differently knowing ahead it was strictly murder/mystery/suspense/thriller? Would you have enjoyed it more knowing not to expect romance?

Vio Td wrote: "Hmmm, the blurb does seem misleading putting some focus on romance. Do you think you would have felt about it differently knowing ahead it was strictly murder/mystery/suspense/thriller? Would you h..."

Hey Td, I would have preferred to have know beforehand that this was a murder/mystery, but in saying that this was long and dragged in some places especially the first half. The second half was much better some more thought should have been put into the "romance" aspect.

message 43: by Td (new)

Td Seems like the mystery isn't enough on it's own either. Thanks, Vio!

message 44: by Tina (new)

Tina I didn't read the blurb, but just from looking at the cover, I wouldn't have thought it was a romance.
