Read the galley and loved it. The back cover says The Breakfast Club meets the X-men, and I can't think of a better comparison. Presenting a list of really memorable teen characters, including Hayden Lockwood (my new fictional crush; sorry, Edward), the most likable jerk to come along in YA literature for a long time, The Vindico makes the world of superheroes and villains about the people behind the powers: family issues, relationships, bullying, and self-esteem, while still brimming with action, adventure, and lots of humor. This really is The Breakfast Club for fantasy lovers.

Apparently it's already generated significant film interest, and a sequel is on the way for 2013, so you may be hearing a lot more about this one soon.
