It's funny. I can't help but think that because this book is written by Ms. Oates, it will be viewed as literature. If the same stories were written by Stephen King, it would be genre. (Not that labels matter -- or, rather, they shouldn't.)

This is a quick read of somewhat eerie, suspenseful stories. By far, the golden tale is about a set of twins -- one which thrives, the other not so much -- and their odd interdependence.
