Ok, so it took me a bit to get into...what with the weird writing style and the strange dialect. It's not that those were huge issues, I just struggled with it. Add to that Saba's almost creepy infatuation with her brother...this book had me rolling my eyes several times with creeped out disdain during the million times Saba was describing how she couldn't live without Lugh...I mean, really? Her "Golden Heart?" It just kinda gave me the heebs.

BUT, before everyone starts yelling at me for my issues with the book there is a big BUT...
Once Saba and Emmi get on the road and the world they live in starts becoming more clear, it all started to make much more sense to me. From the time Saba gets kidnapped to meeting the Free Hawks and Jack and his gang, I fell in love. I may have wanted to slap Saba afew times when her need to drive people away got a bit too annoying...but luckily she managed to surround herself with more patient friends than I, because they all seem to just keep on being there for her. I even maged to cry a bit towards the end of the book. Those of you who read it, probably know why.

And when Lugh becomes a part of the book towards the end, he really does seem to be a great as she described...and despite my criticism of their relationship, I did like that he appeared protective of Saba when he realize she and Jack had a relationship. It just seemed sort of sweet to me.

Overall, I was pleased to see Saba's transformation into a less jerky person...even though her stubborn streak still seam in tact, and I was glad that Jack is supposed to come for her after his "business." I'm a sucker for a happy ending, especially when it comes to love...so here's hoping the sequel will give me what I want. :)
