I loved this book. It is about two doctors in a small Irish village: one older Dr. O'Reilly & one younger Dr. Laverty. The Dr. Laverty has just gotten out of med school the prior year and is training with the O'Reilly to be a general practitioner. Unfortunately, a patient dies not long into this arrangement, and it is thought to be Dr. Laverty's fault. This is primarily his journey through the course of these events...how he copes and learns from the older and wiser Doctor O'Reilly. It is full of quick wit and humor, and I found myself laughing often. I will also note that their are some fairly detailed accounts of treatments surrounding people's *sensitive* areas. That said, I don't think it takes away from the story at all, but gives it a better feel of authenticity...though I wouldn't recommend the book for younger readers. 5/5 stars.
