“If You Give A Moose A Muffin” is a lot of fun. I think children would appreciate it because, like the moose, they can easily get sidetracked. The ideas that are connected to a change in activity are very creative.

To extend this book you could play a thinking game, “What does that make you think of?” The teacher would start with a thought then ask this question to the child sitting next to her. After that child shares, it would be the next child’s turn. Continue taking turns around the circle. The children will be connecting what another child shares to something it brought to their minds just like the moose in the story.
