I liked reading and learning about Renoir, the Impressionist movement, Paris in the 1880s (especially Montmartre), and the area around the Seine in this historical novel. However, I didn't really connect with the characters - Renoir is a fairly unlikeable lech, the woman are fairly lame and uninspiring, and I had trouble keeping track of the various men in the painting. This book is super long - over 425 pages - and I didn't feel I got the bang for my reading buck here. I liked her other "painting books" a lot more.
