bookshelves: emotions, love

This book was absolutely amazing. It is defenitely one of my favorite's. It is a great book to help children when they are starting school. When children first start school they are very sad to leave their mother's, and venture out on something new, and this book will help the child feel a lot better abotu goign to school and will help them if they have separation anxiety. It is a technique that mother's should use to help their children feel better on their first day of school. It is a great book to read to grades K-2, because it is about the fears Chester has about going to school, which are pretty similar to the fears that children experience on their first day of school.

I would read this book on their first day of school, because children have mixed emotions on that day, some are sad and some are happy. After reading it, i would give the children a piece of paper and have them draw a face to express how they are feeling. Whether they are sad, happy, excited, nervous, etc. Afterwards i would go around and talk to each child about how they are feeling.
