Read from February 12 to 17, 2012

This was the last of Conn Iggulden's historical novels about the Mongol Empire, starting with Genghis Khan and ending with his grandson, Kublai Khan. Kublai Khan not only become the Khan of the Mongol Empire, but the progenitor of one of China's most prosperous dynasties, the Yuan Dynasty which got its beginnings in the 13th century.

If you enjoy reading history, you will enjoy this deviation by reading this series of historical novels. One of the things I like about Iggulden's books is that he tries to include as many historical facts as he can find, and then at the end he writes several pages of Historical Notes where he explains what is fact and where and why he has taken poetic license. This last book of the series was as good as all of the others... I really enjoyed it and it is worth 5 stars!
