4 1/2 stars!

Pretty soon I’m going to have to stop saying I don’t like vampire stories. I’ve read several great ones recently, including Ellis Carrington’s IMMORTAL VAMPIRE. I think it’s not so much I’m starting to love vamps, although that is a possibility, but it is more likely that I’ve chosen books based on authors whose writing style I like.
Ms. Carrington crafts a romance such that it doesn’t matter whether the couple is gay or straight, paranormal or well… normal, however you define “normal,” or any combination of the above.
Ms. Carrington’s vampire world has its own canon and she is able to make her characters abide by those rules. The HEA that Angelo and Caleb achieve is very satisfying and emotional. They truly do need each other and will for a long, long time. What began on a Valentine’s Day in Washington DC, ends with Caleb not knowing what the future holds for him or his lover but knowing he does not want any future without Angelo.
