I'm thinking of three words as I read this book and the acronym is "WTF"?! There is more weird-ass serendipity in this book that you can make by squeezing all asian tv dramas together--and I don't mean that in a good way. The story is one irrelevant event after another forced to form a sort of sense through cheap tricks I could see coming. The characters seem to do whatever is convenient to the plot at the time--gone were the people I liked in the first book, to be replaced by these meh simulacrums (pfft, like my 5-star vocabulary, eh?). The language and setting are interesting but so is the National Geographic on the doctor's table. I am sorely disappointed I spent my money on this. I could have bought 500 pages of blank paper to put to better use.

Jim Reading your review made me feel so much better about throwing the book across the room in disgust.

Maggie I am sorry you had to spend money and time on it too, what a waste, eh?
