This is the third book in the C.S. Lewis Space Trilogy. This one is a battle between good and evil on Earth--in particular the island of Great Britain. It is a battle between a really organized bad 'society' called N.I.C.E. and a less than organized good 'society' vieing for rights to rule the Earth. The main characters are a newlywed couple who are torn between the two societies and a loss of their love. The first several chapters were a little hard to wade through before it gets really interesting (besides being a little irritated with the husband's attitude). There are also some scenes that were disgustingly graphic. Maybe that's because I don't usually read books that have murder in them. Anyway, the idea of good vs. bad is really well portrayed and the overall story is really interesting. I wish there was more of Dr. Ransom (from the other 2 books) in this one.
