It's hard for me to rate this book as I think that a lot of what I felt was missing might have simply been lost in translation. I would also critique the repetition, poor citing and the lack of dates for each of the essays. Really, I would never quote this book or use it as a source as I wasn't really trusting what it was telling me since I can't check anything. Frustrating.

That being said, I do feel much more informed about the traditions, history and politics after reading this book. It has some really critical and important thinking around seed saving, small farmers and women's rights that made me think about recent food security campaigns that I have seen launched.

I'm smarter for having read this!
