really liked it
bookshelves: sci-fi, pulp-novels

damn it i love Robert E Howard. Conan is a pretty impressive creation. in the movies he is portrayed by arnie as a rather dull witted hulking brute(and yet if you watch the movie he really isnt) in the books he is smart(he speaks many languages)strong and subtle.
he is a barbarian simply because he is a foreigner, he is from a wild land, the frozen north, beyond even hyperborea(which in latin is "far north")
the books are entertaining and unlike some action adventure type books the stories dont become repetitive.
Howard created a whole world for conan. Like Tolkien her Hyboria is Earth prior to a cataclysmic change. for instance the Shemites, who are unique in having only one god, will become the semetic peoples of modern knowledge.

anyway i also have this thing for pulp from the 20s, love it man.
