3 stars is really a stretch but others might like everything "psychical" more than I.

Cortney Have you never read her books before? The "psychical" stuff is her thing. I enjoy it because it's different. I also enjoy that she mixes genres: romance, mystery, historical, and paranormal. That makes her work unique.

TJ Nope, this was my first. I did enjoy the mixing of genres. The writing was awfully loose in this story, though and the author used the same words over and over rather than think up different ways to express things. "psychical" was just an example, every single page, sometimes more!

I would be very interested to know what you think of this book. Is this book typical of the rest or are others better/worse? Let me know!

Phyllis I too am tired of the word "psychical" and I am only about a fourth of the way through this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It is typical of her body of work. She does have some better pieces of work, but I still really liked this one. It could have elaborated a little bit more on certain story lines and areas, but it was still great. Her writing does take some getting used to, but once I did I found that I really liked the uniqueness in her writing style and her creativity in coming up with different ideas and plots. She also writes contemporary romance and paranormal romance under different pen names and I enjoy them as well. I have to say my favorites are her paranormal novels, whether they are historical, contemporary or futuristic. It takes a lot of imagination to pull that off. And I like reading stories that intrigue you and make you ponder the story line. I think you should give another one of her novels try. Maybe one of her contemporary romances. If you still don't care for her, then that's okay. Everybody has different tastes in reading.

TJ @ Cortney, I'm sorry, After your post, I started thinking and I remembered another book about poison that I thought might be Amanda Quicks that I had read. I went through my book history and found that I have read a few books by this author. It looks like three stars are pretty consistent. Looks like I enjoyed them but didn't love them :) As I remember, the things you list that you like about her stories are the very things I liked ( unique plots that make you ponder etc.) It's in the execution of those ideas that I go a little batty! I think it's great you can overlook them and just enjoy the story!

@ Phyllis: High Five!!! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!!
