really liked it

I'm giving this four stars with reservations, as I did really enjoy it and three seems mediocre. It is better than that. The beginning is kind of slow and self-absorbed in a narrative voice that I found objectionable, a bit of the superior male academic. After the first chapter or so, however, the pace and the narrative voice improved and the further I read, the more I appreciated the book, ending up at a high score and a recommendation.
