really liked it
bookshelves: audiobooks
Read from February 11 to 25, 2012

I really liked this book - the plot was compelling and the characters well developed. Jordan did a good job tackling some hard issues in like abortion (which was illegal & the reason why the main character was tinted red - he punishment), religion, justice & homosexuality. With all the issues the author tackled, it was surprising that this book wasn't a muddled mess - but it wasn't - the story flowed & was gripping. BUT towards the end, it got a little wandering for me. *** possible spoiler here *** a lesbian love scene seemed too contrived - really, Hannah spent the entire book grieving for the lost of her one and only love, Aiden, and then she turns to another woman for comfort - that seemed forced. And then there was a few moments that the book became overly descriptive - if it wasn't an audiobook I was listening to, I would have skimmed a few pages.

But overall, I really liked this book and would recommend it.
