This was an incredible book. I knew absolutely nothing about lobotomies and an interest in almost all things having to do with psychology and so I picked this book up. I certainly had my eyes opened to what a lobotomy is and why they were done, and the devastating results of that procedure. It is extremely interesting that because of his age he was able to somewhat recover, or rather continue developing despite his lobotomy. I think Howard is an incredible example of people who can overcome significant challenges in life and still make a rewarding life for himself.
