Horrible, horrible subject matter and setting - the Rwandan Genocide - but a thoughtful and sensitive story. Courtemanche painted a vivid picture both of the romance at the heart of the story and of the unbelievable atrocities going on around it. The book certainly was well done, but I find it impossible to rate the book higher than three stars because, honestly, I can't say I liked it - too upsetting.
