Alan gave me this book for Christmas. I have always be interested in Jake and Jackie Kennedy. Chris Matthews had access to many people who were close to Jake Kennedy and writings of others. It seems to be a well-documented and honest story of Jack Kennedy's strengths and weaknesses. I have a greater appreciate of Kennedy as a statesman-- I think his statesman, humanitarian heart, was in the right place. I have less respect for his personal morality and the way he managed his personal life and relationships. I also enjoyed insight into the Cuba Missile Crisis, Bay of Pigs, the Cold War and other historical events that happened when I was a child.
