Many parts of this small novel are utterly charming. The mixed narration (three separate first person narrators, taken in turns, with an occasional third person omniscient intrusion) works well on the whole. The voices were full-formed and nicely distinct. The intersections of the characters are at first jaw-droppingly significant, but ultimately ludicrous. I could not accept that there would be so many connections between them.
